Lavender
PollyH and I met up for coffee this morning and spent a couple of hours having a good old natter. We discovered we had quite a bit in common, including taking photographs surprise, surprise and a hearty dislike of deadheading Petunias. Thanks P for an entertaining morning, and hope we can do it again.
I was woken about 3 a.m. by thunder and lightning, followed by very heavy rain, so a complete waste of time watering the garden last evening. It rumbled on for quite a while, then seemed to drift away, only to return to keep me awake a bit longer. It did help to lower the temperature. Jolly hot again now and waiting expectantly for the next lot tonight.
Boiler packed up. £50 call out fee by British Gas even though we are on a contract. We think it's due a service in September so we might resort to the immersion heater till then. The pump's working and I did tell JJ that the pilot light had gone out. I got a funny look and "there isn't a pilot light" in response. That's me told then.
I took lots of photographs of lavender and an Eryngium I succumbed to at a nursery yesterday, but I quite liked this.
Have a good weekend. The golf's on.
