One Sister
It is not hard to reach this vantage point but long before I had done so, I rather regretted the whole idea, seeing as how the strong westerly breeze was roaring something awful and the wind chill temperature had hovered around zero degrees all day. Whose idiot notion had this been anyway? There comes a time when to continue on and do the shoot is not much worse than simply turning back and getting nothing.
As it happened we had had to go out for a variety of errands anyway and as the light was actually looking fairly presentable at times, I took about 20 minutes to get the "One Sister" view near Echo Point. The other two sisters are hidden from view by the near one.
People from Sydney had been arriving in the Mountains all day looking for snow. There WAS no snow however. It had been expected last night and this morning but it all came down in a heavy dump to the west of us, largely between Lithgow and Orange, blocking highways in several locations for much of the morning. Between Blackheath and Wentworth Falls there had been a light dusting of sleet overnight combined with a heavy frost, which had brought dangerous black ice to certain roads until about 9 am. It had all melted/evaporated/disappeared by this time however.
