National at Usher Hall

A much anticipated gig with jay. I've seen The National before and once again they didn't disappoint. They opened up emphatically, with a slight lull in the middle proving that Trouble Will Find Me isn't their finest hour, in fact the version of Demons was pretty poor. However once they kicked in with England things just got better and better leaving the crowd screaming for more. Them boys have got some tunes on them. My favourite of the night, was actually something from Trouble Will Find Me, the version of Graceless become a fabulous wall of noise as Matt Berninger stalked the stage, barking orders at the band like a Ohioan Mark E Smith.
