All Saints Church, Marlow
Time past and time future
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present
T. S. Eliot, Burnt Norton
Over in Marlow today for a walk by the river, stopping in the churchyard of All Saints by this wall engraved with Eliot's words; he lived in Marlow between 1917 and 1920. A good place to pause, on a hot day, here 'at the still point of the turning world'.
