Mecca
I wandered around this morning with the intention of going to the Reina Sofia when it opened. I meandered by the plaza mayor and stopped for an espresso on a random little street. When I walked around the corner I happened upon a shop with a line outside of it. This immediately piqued my interest. These people could not be waiting for bread already, could they? It turned out to be the most remarkable espadrille store. They had everything and were incredibly helpful. I waited in line for 45 minutes and finally showed the man what I wanted. I had been looking for a pair of black wedge espadrilles. I couldn't resist an adorable pair in turquoise for Stella. I hope they fit. The woman in front of me explained that she had waited for two and a glad hours just one week before, so I guess my wait was pretty standard. As I left, the line had tripled and the poor people were standing in the blazing sun.
