Robert Burns

As today is the birthday of Robert Burns (1759 ~ 1796), and something of a celebration in Scotland, it seemed appropriate to photograph his statue which stands in Union Terrace, Aberdeen.
He holds a daisy in his hand.


To a Mountain Daisy

Wee, modest, crimson-tippèd flow'r,
Thou's met me in an evil hour;
For I maun crush amang the stoure
Thy slender stem:
To spare thee now is past my pow'r,
Thou bonie gem.
