Rhossili Bay
We woke up a bit indecisive whether to spend the day in Cardiff or drive to the coast for a swim. It was a bit cloudy, but we decided to go for it, and the sun started peeking through the clouds on the journey. We went to Rhossili Bay; recently voted the best beach in the UK, third best in Europe and ninth best in the world (!). It was absolutely stunning! Stupidly we left our swimmers in the car as it was so blustery, but when we got down to the beach it was sheltered and the water was really warm - definitely perfect for a swim. We settled for a brilliant paddle, watching hermit crabs scuttle around, and spent ages exploring the cliffs and rock pools. After a scramble up an unmarked path to get back to the top (real paths are for wimps), we drove to the beach in the next bay for lunch and an ice cream.
After getting back to Cardiff to drop Carl off for his early bus, the rest of us went back to the skate park for one of their amazing burgers before spending the night in the pub with one eye watching the world cup final, and the other watching Sweet Baboo. What an excellent weekend.
