Early start and too early an ending

I have the day off and decided to go shopping early, before it got too hot.

Took this as I pulled up in the supermarket car park. Not a terribly inspiring picture but the chap on the right reminds me a little of Captain Mainwaring from Dad's Army..... "don't tell him, Pike"



I'm in a state of shock on learning that a friend died last night. He was only in his 40's and had been having treatment for cancer, but his prognosis was good. Unfortunately it seems that the treatment had buggered up his immune system and he deteriorated very fast over a 24 hour period.
