The Rocky Mountaineer
Cold and cloudy. Spent most of the day walking 12 miles along superb paths around Whistler Valley. Lovely peaceful walking along well marked trails, accompanied by lots of folk on bikes ( this is superb mountain biking country ) and a lot of joggers. Our walk took us through large forests and passed Lost Lake, Green Lake ( where we had a great patio lunch at one of Jack Nicklaus's golf resorts ) and lastly Alta Lake. Quite a bit of snow on the mountains so we did not do a gondola ride and high level trails not advised due to snow. Lots of big trains spotted including the Rocky Mountaineer.
Whistler is a fantastic resort ( even when here is no snow) - lots of very fit looking folk I town and lots of interesting outdoor shops to explore - possibly tomorrow if time.
