Dachstein and Almsee, Filsmoos.

Today was sunny and clear so we headed up a mountain. We drove to the base of Dachstein and got a cable car up to the top, all 3000 metres of it! The views were incredible from the top and walking in the snow and watching the skiing was like another world. We walked along a suspension bridge with a drop of goodness knows what and stood on the 'stairway to nothing', then walked inside the glacier in the Dachstein Ice Palace which was fun. A hot chocolate ( and a beer for JP) finished our visit superbly!
Later in the day we drove a little further to a village called Filsmoos and walked to Almsee, a tiny lake at the end of the valley. Finished there with a drink in an incredibly old inn called Oberhofalm - I had coffee and JP had to have waldbeer buttermilsch - betrays in buttermilk!
