A suit & tie day
Degree ceremony in a "grown up" prison; a Cat A. The graduate's family were there and a couple of guests from his wing. As is frequently the case the prison staff who spoke talked of someone who other people respect for his achievements. The graduate is a mentor for other learners and is invited to talk to people interested in starting their education in custody. The cool thing today is that the graduate was one of the first guys I met when I started visiting prisons. I advised him on his course of study and, as he reminded everyone, talked him out of his first planned degree.
Even a nightmare journey home couldn't dent a smashing day.
