Sis is Here! Woohoo!
When we drove north 5 miles on the 15 freeway to the Eastvale shopping area this afternoon, I wanted to capture the view of Mt. Baldy so I clicked from the front seat of the car through the dirty windshield. I never dreamed I would capture anything worth displaying. I love it when my camera surprises me.
I called my sis first thing this morning (see yesterday's story for details). I knew she had left Portland yesterday headed this way, but last night I forgot to phone her till it was too late and I did not want to wake her. So this morning I phoned and discovered she had spent the night in Redding, which is what she had planned.
She told me that as soon as she had the car re-packed she would leave--about 9:00 a.m. and said she had an 8 hour drive to get to our place. She thought she'd be here about 6:00 p.m.
My sis loves the drive. She listens to Books on Tape and the miles fly bye. At 4:30 Mr. Fun's phone rang while we were at the shopping center. My sis was somewhere, she thought, north of Bakersfield and said she wouldn't be here by 6:00 and not to wait dinner for her. We were pretty sure that she was about 3 hours from us. We finished our shopping and headed for home.
A little after 7:00 my phone rang, "I'm near your house. In your neighborhood, but I can't seem to find your street!" I handed my phone to Mr. Fun and he walked outside and talked her through the neighborhood and to our driveway.
So one sister and 2 cute little dogs came in for a landing. I had dinner just about ready. So the car was unpacked; we ate dinner; and now we're watching the 11:00 p.m. news as I type.
We think tomorrow we'll drive south to Carlsbad to see Grammie Teele's house and who knows what else. We may spend the night down there somewhere, but I'm going to let my sis and Mr. Fun make the decision. I'm just along for the ride and to capture as much of this as I can with my camera and with my journal.
We've already been talking non-stop and it's all I can do to get my blip uploaded for this day. This is going to be a fun week. Thanks for your comments yesterday. You are all great!
Good night from Southern California
