Elizabeth Castle

Walked across the bay at low tide to one of the most impressive castles I've been to. Elizabeth Castle has experienced centuries of history; it's the most recent castle in the British Isles to be directly attacked, after the RAF strafed it in the later years of the war.

Underneath the flag is the remains of a German fortification from the occupation.
