A walk in the Woods and met mr Mannerheim statue today - but changed the shot from the woody one to this quite magnificient scene of Kaukajärvi lake.
A large shot here, enjoy!
some shots from the woods here...
You see in the middle of the woods in Tampere there is a statue of a Finnish military leader and statesman Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim. We were walking there too today and I added some shots of the statue into my Flickr site...
This skillful man served as the military leader of the Whites in the Finnish Civil War, Regent of Finland (1918–1919), commander-in-chief of Finland's defence forces during World War II, Marshal of Finland, and the sixth president of Finland (1944–1946).... However the Mannerheim statue was eventually placed in the middle of the forest 7km out of the city (in part due to lingering controversy over Mannerheim's Civil War role).
Some more story and glory here...
It has been a great and lovely day, some +17c and raining once and a while.... In the morning (almost before the rain started) I made a 13km bicylce trip partly in woods nearby. Took almost 2 hours, there was so high hills (had to walk) too, took some time... Have decided to be in good shape at christmas... Knee seems to fit into the speed, but I have to be careful with it at home. Peculiarly so ;)
