Jonathan Catches Tassel (2014.195)

Our first full day at Centerparcs (on this visit, that is, for this is our 8th time here) was a great success. Swimming in the morning, badminton in the afternoon, then the Owl Experience in the early evening.

Richard came over from Silverband Falconry to give the group some chat about owls, and to let us stroke and fly the birds.

In this shot, a barn owl called Tassel, comes in to land on Jonathan's gloved hand.

We all got to have a go, but this is the best shot of the set. Surprisingly hard to shoot a 350 gram bird landing on a child in a crowded room!
