Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Cambria Day

We had an appointment for the pups with the dog groomer at 9:30. So we walked them to their appointment and then we were off and gone.

We decided to venture north on the highway. Cambria was our destination. After a lovely breakfast stop at Linn's Restaurant, we wandered through several gift shop/doodah type of stores. I purchased several greeting cards and just did lots of looking. Then we started toward the library and stopped at a little thrift store "Love Me Two Times" -- the place is decorated very nicely. We didn't purchase anything, but they have a big lovely looking sofa chair and ottoman that I sure would like to have -- maybe I should use the photo of that chair for my blip.

The Cambria library has a really great "friends of the library store." We pulled into the parking lot and realized the library is not open on Mondays. Ugh! So we continued on down the highway to the used bookstore. Mr. Fun is looking for a copy of John Steinbeck's Travels with Charley. Once he learned the bookstore had recently sold all the Steinbeck stuff, we headed to the Cambria Nursery, which is where today's photo came from. There were butterflies and bumblebees everywhere. It is a big place with several buildings to walk through.

Then we headed to the shoreline through lots of residential areas. Every house is unique and it is very interesting to look at them. We found a great little "public access" beach and parked the car to walk out to it.

We also discovered Cambria Pines Camp and we never even knew it existed. We just had lots of fun exploring.

Then it was time to get back to Cayucos because we had three pooches who would be freshly groomed and waiting for us. We parked our car at the house and walked to the groomer's shop. Then we took the pups to the park across the street so they could shake-off the feeling of being cooped-up all day. From there we headed home with everyone agreeing that it had been a very good day; a very fun day. We made tacos for dinner and called it a day!

Good night from California's Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun, and Chloe, Mitzi, and Max),
aka Carol
