Cheddar Gorge

The first day of our Somerset holiday and we walked from Draycott to Cheddar to take in the tops of Cheddar Gorge.

It was warm and sunny, and the views were stunning. I was kept quite happy as there was plenty of wildlife to keep me absorbed - including the wild goats, grasshoppers and marbled white butterflies. I nicknamed them Tudor butterflies as they reminded me of the black and white of Tudor buildings.

This view was about halfway round our walking looking back across the Gorge. You can just see some tiny people at the edge of the cliff.

The day was finished off with a cream tea in Cheddar at the start of the Gorge in Derrick's Tea Rooms.

We decided to walk to Rodney Stoke , a thankful village, where we had a lovely pub meal to end our day.
