Space. Almost the final frontier
The National Space Centre
Doesn't sound quite so glamerous when you find out that it's in Leicester. But it was too good to miss on the way to our last night in Yorkshire.
The wee CEO didn't know we were going there. But he helped us follow the space rocket signs on the motor way to find it! I think he was pleased by the outcome of the detour :o)
We flicked the switches in the International Space Station, we chilled in the planetarium, we discovered the stars, we took the elevator four floors up the side of a real rocket, we controlled a digger collecting moon rocks, we landed a lunar landing pod, we pressed buttons and pressed more buttons and then followed the footsteps of an astronaut back to the car.
And drove to a trusty Premier Inn in Yorkshire. And gorged on Fish n Chips in a cafe. We were almost too exhausted to test all the light switches more than six or seven times! Almost!
