The Protector
I came across 2 more Osprey nests today, on the side of a corn field, while in Connecticut.
They were both on top of telephone poles, about 100' apart. So interesting to watch. They both had young ones in the nest. I knew from my previous experiences with the osprey, that the minute the parents saw me, they would start flying.
Sure enough, as I drove within range for a camera shot, she took off flying. Circling round and round, never taking her eyes off of me! Every photo I took, she is glaring right into my eyes! I stood beside the car in case I had to make a quick dive into it!
I am so impressed with the protective instincts these raptors have for their young!
I'm thrilled to be able to observe the wonders of nature!
