Osprey Flight School

The image does not quite convey how amazing this scene was to watch.

The ospreys built a grand nest (just out of view here). Two fine chicks hatched, and now, a few weeks later, they are fledglings... trying out their wings! Today the two flew off in opposite directions, each landing on a nearby tree branch, overlooking the shallow water. Their mother kept calling from the nest... giving further instructions? She then joined Fledgling #1 on his new perch, communicated something to him, and flew back to the nest. Can you see her flying in this photo?
