Cygnets
I decided to walk round Strathclyde Park this morning. I was wondering what effect, if any, the preparations for the Commonwealth Games Triathlon event was having on the wildlife.
I was pleased to see there are still plenty geese and swans about. These two cygnets were sitting near mum and dad, with a sibling off to one side. I spotted another family with four cygnets too. The loch has been dammed at the moment to stop the inflow from the Avon and outflow to the Clyde. This has led to stagnant water where the Avon enters the loch. What effect is this having? There are also notices about the build up of blue- green algae in the loch. Hopefully after the event the ecosystem will return to normal.
