Green is a great colour!

What a soggy day today - right from the word go. Spent most of the day in the glasshouse potting and weeding and generally getting on top of it all, something which I rarely do these days.

As a result I had no Blip by the time I set off for home so took this photograph on my way up to the house. Most hardy bamboos come from east Asia, but this specimen is Chusquea culeou, a beautiful bamboo from the humid temperate forests of Chile and south-western Argentina.

Unlike most bamboos, the canes are solid, which is a bit different! They're said to be good for cutting, as they don't wilt so easily. You'd need a big pot!
