Gazing at the moon
I don't usually blip this early in the day in case something better comes along but I am so pleased with this which I took just after midnight when I let the dogs out for their last wee before bed. I love taking pics of the moon but previously had relied on 'auto' when the moon was golden coloured and the sky still had light, so that the contrast was less. However, after my session with 'Going Digital' last week I have more confidence off auto and realised that I needed to use shutter priority - fastest speed, max aperture.
This was at f6.5, 1/2000 ISO800 using my new Sony DSC-H400 at full 63x zoom. I increased the brightness and contrast a tad and cropped it square.
