350 Years of the Royal Marines

Following last nights Dinner Dance for the Royal Marines Reunion of 41 Commando, today we went into Deal to celebrate 350 years of the Royal Marines and the 25 year Anniversary of the Bombing at the Barracks in Deal.

Sadly, the Flypast of a Spitfire and a Hurricane was cancelled due to poor weather, which was a shame as there was beautiful sunshine once the Band of her Majesties Royal Marines went past. We saw them at the Albert Hall this year. They were fabulous.

We used the Royal Marines Association as a base today so had a great view. The Area around the band stand was totally packed. Heaving even. I was really cross that the chap at the front kept getting his hand in the way, but after I had taken the shot I realised it was Sinbad from last nights Dinner Dance who amused me all night with his hilarious drunk dancing, singing of wrong words and chucking to himself as he sung! Hes a right character! Its nice to have him as a reminder of a great evening. Certainly helped me cheer up a bit.

On the way home we stopped of at the White Cliffs of Dover just as the Tea shop closed! But Mr W drew me a Heart in the chalk wall and found me a Heart Pebble on the beach in Deal.

Home now. Almost ready for bed but need to watch South East News as the cameras were there today!

xXx
