Brownsea Swim

Last year I photographed the annual round Brownsea Island swim for Poole Lifeguards.
This year I couldn't do it because of my shoulder injury so my good friend David Beater agreed to do it for me. This left me the role of photographers assistant but I was able to use my little Sony RX100 although without a viewfinder and in bright sunshine there was some guesswork involved.
I agreed to do some publicity shots for David that he can use on his web site so here he is capturing some of the finishers as they come out of the water.
The distance is over 4 miles and the winning time 1 hour 20 minutes which I think is pretty impressive, but just as impressive are the not so fit swimmers who can be in the water for up to three hours and who struggle to get round but do it anyway.
A great event brilliantly organised by Poole Lifeguards.
