Peterhof Palace!

Another day in St Petersburg and a visit to the Catherine and Peterhof Palaces, homes to the ruling classes in previous centuries. Both were extensively damaged during WW11, but have been restored to their former spectacular state.

This is a view towards the Bay of Finland.

It was another very warm and sunny day, much to the surprise of the locals, who say they spend 9 months anticipating summer and 3 months being disappointed!!

We set sail about 6pm and are heading for Helsinki.

I've just posted yesterday's blip as I was a bit behind. It's worth looking back at as it is the interior of the Hermitage Museum :0)
