Holiday, Day 3

We've been so lucky with the weather this week. Today has been sizzling and we spent as much of it outdoors as we could. The place we're staying at has its own lake which is about a 15 minute walk away through fields of sheep and cows and is totally secluded amidst woodland and hills. If it weren't for the unsettling presence of the occasional fighter plane on a training flight overhead it would be easy to imagine that 'civilisation' is a long way away!

There are a handful of boats and kayaks scattered on the banks of the lake and we took a couple of them out for a paddle which was great fun. Neither of us fell in, which was an added bonus - although we were almost tempted to jump in for a swim anyway! The water was just a few degrees too cold for us!
