Start of MTBO

As the storm clouds gathered for day two of the National Championships cyclists gathered for the start. The overnight rain plus a downpour shortly after the start turned some of the bridleways into a mud bath.

Unfortunately biking partner Steve had a heavy tumble on one of the bridleways and so we modified our plans heading back earlier than planned.

I took several pictures at the start and liked this shot of one mixed team putting their heads together to pick out the route which would score them most points. Now enjoying a glass of wine before putting some calories back in!
