Caterpillar
A couple of years ago we went camping along the Lincolnshire coast, and noticed for the first time two things: sea buckthorn and, chomping its way through the sea buckthorn, dozens perhaps even hundreds of caterpillars in black and yellow onsies.
These turned out to be the caterpillars of the cinnabar moth, a striking black and red moth often seen flying during the day.
We saw these examples a lot closer to home, feeding on common ragwort.
