Freddie

Bigger Freddie

Another Friday night and another trip to Grace Road to watch a spot of T20 Blast cricket. This evening was a bit special though. One of England's greats has come out of retirement to play T20 cricket for Lancashire. Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff was in the game!

Sadly I never got to see Freddie play in the flesh when he was in his pomp so I was excited to get this chance now, and he didn't disappoint. When he came into to bat he poked and prodded for a couple of balls before taking a heave and getting out lbw, he lasted less than an over. When Lancashire were in the field, the first delivery was edged low and was a certain 4 until Freddie dived full length and stuck out a large hand and stopped the ball. Straight into the thick of it.

Freddie then bowled the first over from the Pavilion end, and ultimately took three wickets. Watching him through the lens you could see the effort that he was putting into the bowling. He was here to win for Lancashire, not to make up the numbers. His 3 wickets certainly helped Lancashire to the victory this evening.

Another gloriously warm sunny summers evening whiled away watching a bit of cricket. Bliss.
