Dunbar Lifeboat Festival

The Dunbar Lifeboat Festival enjoyed hot weather if a bit overcast and muggy. There weren’t so many things going on this year as the previous year had been a centennial celebration when there were air sea rescue demonstrations and wake boarding in the harbour but it was convivial enough with plenty to see. My blip shows some of the old fishing vessels that were on display. There were a number activities and pastimes for the children to try out – rock climbing, archery and birds of prey and vintage cars to look at. You could also go round the new life boat. Dunbar got a spanking new lifeboat a couple of years ago when the old one was cut adrift from its moorings in Skateraw Harbour during a wild storm and badly damaged.
