Sandy Goes to Sanday
After a warm day in Kirkwall, I'm afraid the weather reverted to type -the mist came down, accompanied by some light rain just as we ditched the car and took to the bikes for our sailing to the northerly island of Sanday.
This island is regarded as flat except for a few undulations, but when you see the road in front disappearing up into the mist with a strong head wind, then flat is relative.
Nevertheless we made it up to the campsite and our 'pod' for two nights of luxury camping with time to spare before the chip shop on site closed.
We have a sea view from our beds and if the mist clears tomorrow, we will be able to see for miles.
