Happy Birthday, Henry David!

Dear Diary,

Today is the 197th anniversary of the birth of Henry David Thoreau, a man whose writing has had a terrific impact on my humble attempts at contemplative photography. I thought I would dig through my SoulCollage® cards and find the one I created on four great writers who have influenced me. I have more to add to it but it does include Henry, along with Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, and Virginia Woolf.

This afternoon I will be with friends making more of these inspirational cards. It is always a fun and illuminating time as the images we choose, seemingly at random, come together to awaken memory.
