Candy Stripe Spider
Also known as the Polymorphic Spider, the Candy Stripe Spider, Enoplognatha ovata, is the only spider that comes in a multitude of colours. Many have red stripes along their back giving them their common name.
They are common but, this year is a good year. I've found more around the garden than in previous years. This one had spun it's web on the golden leaves of my Choisia. I admit a fortuitous mishap. My hose has a split and whilst I'm too idle to fix it I filled the trough for the WoollyBabes, I sent the spillage onto the Choisia where I'd aimed the camera on this spider. The fine spray caused the droplets. The water didn't put her off her lunch!
Oh dear... sorry, there are a lot of spiders around at the moment.
