Ever start something you wish you hadn't?

The huge viburnum in the garden has brambles growing through it, ivy starting to spread underneath, and it is layering itself, so I decided that today was the day to give it a trim. It hasn't had any pruning for the last five years and has trebled in size since then, so most of the inside was just a jumble of stems, but I'm sure it will be ok.
Now comes the worst bit, clearing away the debris, and that's when I regret having started the job, and why I haven't pruned it in the last five years!
