Black and White Fence

I've decided to blip in black and white for the next week or so...

Was walking to the shops when I passed this fence (which I do quite frequently) and thought it would make a good starting point for my black and white series. Although my A560 has extreme difficulty with depth of field (even in macro mode - move an inch and the whole thing goes to pot), with a bit of patience some striking results can be achieved.

Although the A560 has a monochrome mode, it kind of desaturates the image rather than converts to a true black and white - hence my reliance on the GIMP for post processing.
