Phenomenal Clyde

This evening on the way home I noticed a giant floral sculpture of the official Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games mascot, Clyde, had been installed outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

Clyde is made up of more than 6,000 individual plants and took nearly four months to grow and shape. The sculpture is taller than a double decker bus, at 4.5 metres (15-feet), and weighs more than four tonnes. The huge, green artwork will provide a colourful welcome to the city for the hundreds of thousands of UK and overseas visitors attending the Games.
