Quod oculus meus videt

Mist, Chillington

On the way to the gym and the weather suddenly closed in with heavy fog shrouding the land. I changed plans and headed out to Weston Park to capture the conditions, only to be thwarted by a non-responsive code on the entrance gate! Frustrating. So I headed back towards work stopping at various places to capture images.

On Monday I had met the owner of another estate in the area, its landscape also influenced by a Capability Brown design. He was aware of the 300th celebrations being planned and this evening I received an invitation to meet him on the estate to discuss expanding the photographic project to include Chillington Park. I suppose it was inevitable that I would end up on one of the roads next to the park and captured this image. I have photographed these trees during the winter, leafless and bare. Quite a difference, although conditions were similar.
