When in Rome

Day 2 - Piazza del Popolo, Church of Santa Maria del Popolo; walk through Villa Borghese park; visit to Museum and Gallery Borghese; walk to Church of Santa Maria della Vittoria to see Bernini's controversial sculpture 'The Ecstasy of St. Teresa'.

Today's Blip was taken in the Gallery Borghese, showing the side of Bernini's sculpture 'Ratto di Proserpina'. The detail is absolutely fantastic, especially the attention to detail in sculpting the veins on the body and the digging of hands into the flesh of Proserpina (on the opposite side).
