My Time Abroad

Rain, Rain Go Away

A second orientation welcoming all new students to Massey commenced at 10 am this morning. This time we divided into our specific schools, mine being the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Since this is the school's spring semester, the orientation was a lot smaller than a fall semester's would be. It consisted of study abroad students, freshman, transfers, etc.

It was a little redundant, but helpful. The campus tour was all I really needed out of it. The two students who guided us were very eager to help, remembering each of our specific majors and helping us to where our classes will be. The campus is definitely tricky to get around.

A BBQ here in NZ as shown above does not involve any buns! Just bread slices. Really good though, I got seconds. Somebody told me I looked like the girl with glasses from The Big Bang Theory. I'm getting a little sick of being told I look like other brunettes who wear glasses.

Afterwards me and Blythe went to the mall for cell phones. This time the school shuttle took us for free. We heard about this $20 a month plan- unlimited texting and 100 calling minutes all on a sim card that goes right in your iPhone. So we got them, but have to wait for AT&T back home to unlock the phone, could take up to 5 days. This way, we can start exchanging numbers and actually make plans with people.

It rained straight through the night. We were hoping to go to the local college bar tonight but with the combination of the horrendous weather and still being pretty jet lagged, it didn't happen. This is officially the latest I've stayed up though! 11:30. I should sleep into the morning with no problem!
