Knick Knack Paddywhack.
Give a dog a bone. (and you'd never know what might happen.)
This is my first (feeble) attempt at bone carving. That is a skill called scrimshaw practised by the old whalers to pass away long years at sea. It was much harder than I had expected and there was many a slip. And I am no great shakes as an artist. But the Redhead likes it. The motif is repeated on the other side. I was going to do a harp and a leek to go with the rose and thistle but I couldn't come up with a design that worked.
See my blip for 1st July for a reference.
A heart each is going to Woolyheaded and Carole who between them guessed what I was going to do.
