Oakland County Fair

Oh...how I love county fairs.

Smelly animals, fried foods, old tractors, pies, cakes, jellies and jams, young love, and jumping dogs.

I watched the training dogs for WAY too long. Old dogs, young dogs, fast dogs, and slow dogs. Jumps, heeling, sitting, and laying down. A couple of them had trouble with all the different "smells" in the arena...wanting to sniff. The handlers had to yell..."LEAVE IT, LEAVE IT!"

I was going to make up a story about one of the big dogs who got away from its trainer, jumped the fence, and was terrorizing the crowd. And, of course...with my mailman training...I rushed the dog...and wrassled it to the ground until the trainer arrived. (Insert the claps and cheers from the crowd here.) But, I didn't think anybody would buy the tale.

Instead, I just lent an ear to these 2 baby bunnies. Obviously...the one on the right is the jokester.

Q: "What airline do rabbits use?"
A: "British Hare-ways!"

Q: "What did the rabbit say to the carrot?"
A: "It's been nice gnawing you."

Q: "Why did the bunny build herself a new house?"
A: "She was fed up with the hole thing."

The bunny on the left never even smiled.

"Wait! I've got one more!"

"100 rabbits are in a straight line. 99 of them take a step backwards. What do you call that?"

"A RECEDING HARE LINE!" Do you get it? A RECEDING HARE LINE!"

A day at the county fair. If you can stand it...34 other shots are on my FLICKR PAGE. I tried to pare them back, but couldn't. Too many subjects...too much color.

This picture is dedicated to my blip buddy kimmiekims...who likes her some bunnies.
