The man who wasn't there

This invisible man has a fundamental flaw in his business plan. He needs to blend into the background, nonchalantly reading his newspaper, hoping that passersby will be so gobsmacked when they notice him that they'll throw him a unicorn or two.

But he blended in so well that most people didn't notice him at all. Those that did kept on walking without donating (into his almost invisible glass jar). And he couldn't adopt the more aggressive collection tactics of other buskers, because he was so busy trying to look like he wasn't there in the first place.
