Triumphal architecture
This is the old court building in Manchester that is now surrounded, but thankfully spared, by modern Spinningfields. You can see it reflected in the windows.
I can't believe how the architects of Spinningfields appear to have managed to escape being influenced by this late 50s/ early 60s example of how glazed modernism can also be grand, beautiful and attractive. With its steps and elegance it includes, rather than excludes people.
