Feeling awesome !!

I am a volunteer in guiding and have been involved since I was 7 when I was a brownie and then I went to guides at 10 and met 2 wonderful leaders Barbara j and Barbara b and that was to change my life in many ways

I loved my time as a guide but as a 14 year old goth / rocker I was teased for staying on as a young leader but something compelled me to stay

Guiding was something that gave me self worth, let me try new things and I was never judged for who I was

And these 2 lovely leaders must have either been crazy or seen some potential in me and let me stay

I briefly took over guides when they left but soon moved to brownies and ended up running the unit where I was a brownie

I was working, moving on, growing up but this stayed a part of me

26 years later I still love it I have had hundreds, maybe even a thousand brownies through my pack I have been a district commissioner and am now the brownie advisor for county the division commissioner for woodbank and have had some amazing, money can't buy opportunities

I have met some wonderful friends who have helped me through the darkest times and been there to share some amazing highlights

I would like to think I have made a difference to girls and other leaders and most of all I have had an absolute ball doing it

It was an honour to receive 5 nominations as guiding idol and an even bigger one to receive this letter today

Thank you all who had the belief in me x you inspired me to inspire xx

So as the new strap line goes .... We discover, we grow !!
