Art Gallery

Last year there was some controversy regarding a proposed redevelopment of Aberdeen Art Gallery. Internally there is behind me here a marble staircase installed in 1905, as part of the renovation the staircase will be replaced (though conserved for possible reuse elsewhere). The main changes will be external however as it is proposed to add an additional level in a very different architectural style to the existing building.

Looking at the planning consent from Historic Scotland I have the impression this view of the atrium will be largely unchanged. Though possibly without the dolphin.

Another nice day today, at least four or five days in a row now. If we get to ten days that will be a record as far as I am concerned, however I think the forecast for tomorrow is not looking so good.
