Into Darkness.
The skip was due to arrive this morning and duly did. A lovely man plonked it on the driveway and then blethered to me for ages about the cost of landfill tax, the VAT increase and the pointlessness of the charging structure employed.
With that accomplished, we headed into town. The son wandered off to meet a friend that he shared a flat with at uni and I went to meet someone I met here on Blip. (The son was slightly concerned that I might have been targeted by a stalker - or worse - but he was reassured when he met Imp). We had a lovely time getting to know one another in the real world before we all had to go our separate ways. (We even found out that she had friends in the village we live in. The son had gone to school with their oldest lad).
Headed up to the hospital to cadge a lift home with the man. Was introduced to someone who only came to work in the department a few months ago. Apparently we were in the same year at the same school. Spent a while talking about that and the teachers and all the daft things we remember. Strangely, although we don't really know (or remember) one another we also lived within a few hundred yards of each other.
It really is a small world!
Anyway, after all that excitement it was dark by the time we headed home. Now off to crack open the last of the Christmas reds to celebrate the beginning of the weekend. Have a good one.
