CannyScot's Day

By CannyScot

Fragile Beauty

Beautiful morning, sunny and hot with a light breeze.

I wanted to blip this Crocosmia but the breeze and the bright sunlight gave me a few problems. The stalk is so long and light it was being blown all over the place. I overcame this by placing a heavy stick against the pot and the stalk so that at least the movement was restricted. I adjusted the exposure compensation for the sunlight.

The plant originated from South Africa and East Africa but it seems to be quite at home here in Scotland. It really is a delicate and fragile beauty, so I wrote a verse in its honour.

Crocosmia, Fragile Beauty

So fragile and so delicate, yet so strong and so full
Your stalk is so thin, but your flower is so big.
Blown about by the wind, swinging here and there
Bowing so gracefully, dancing with such ease.

Enjoy the rest of the day - hope your weather is good.
