Another superb Wellington winter's day. A good day to visit the summit of Tangi te keo / Mount Victoria and look south towards Antarctica.

The official name of this monument, seen from the back, is the 'New Zealand National Memorial to Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd'; the bust of the great American polar explorer and aviator, who used Wellington as his base in the 1930's, nestled on the front facing Antarctica.
