It's another hot day for us. I have watering to do at E's house. That means several trips back and forth as our restrictions don't allow for watering after 10 AM and before 6 PM. I set the timers for the start up but I still have to be there to move the sprinklers around. So breakfast was on the run and my first chance to sit out on my deck in the morning sun while listening to CBC radio.
This was day 2 of the ongoing saga of painting the house. The painter (just one today) was on site and had his ghetto blaster wailing by 8 AM. I got busy doing some jobs with my daughter inside the house. It was a very breezy morning and I left all the doors and windows open to keep the house cool. At some point in the morning the gusty wind took hold of the painter's ladder and it blew down on him, hitting him on the head. He was able to make a cell phone call to his boss before he passed out. I got a call mid afternoon to tell me what had happened as I must have been away at the time. I was pleased to know the painter does not have a concussion and is expected back to the job tomorrow.
